it seems as though it was only ystd that i was blogging my new year's eve entry for 2007 and now, in a blink of eye, here i am, blogging my new year's eve entry for 2008. i remembered commenting that 2007 wasn't really a bad year entirely because of the new friends i've made and partly because of the fact that i've grown up a lot more as compared to the last few years as well. if i did think in that manner in 2007, i want to say that 2008 is a whole lot better year as compared to 2007.

firstly, the issue about independence once again. in 2007, i had to learn to deal with new people, new friends all on my own because apparently, xiao wasn't being assigned to the same class as me. in 2008, even though i was already in that class for one year and was getting kind of comfortable to the people around me, i realised that i was still more comfortable with the girls in our own world. yes, maybe i ain't independent, but i wasn't needy too. i didn't mind being a loner even though i hated to be one.

secondly, i talked about the new friends that ive made and because of that, 2007 didn't really sucked as much as i thought it would. but if i were to make a comparison now, i would definitely say 2008 was a better year because i've met a precious group of tomodachi. {: and yes, they are the group of Okinawan friends in both Okinawa & Singapore. some asked why do i even prioritize them instead of the others whom i've known for a longer period of time. because i think it was a miracle that i could get to meet them. (especially those from Okinawa) its like, out of so many people, why were the 10 of us chosen? and out of so many people, why were our hosts chosen? if my final decision was to take my T6 module, i wouldn't have met them already. {:

maybe i've lost some friends in the process of gaining new friends, maybe i've drifted apart with some of them while i get closer and understand my "new" friends better.. but you know what? i think i would rather have this group of close friends cum "new friends" then to get back some of the old friends. people change, everyone does. {: i think i shall make it a tradition to do the same old things for every new year eve's entry - an entry, resolutions cum a photo entry. to sum this entry up, 2008 was a hectic and full-of-reminiscing-period year. 2008, さよなら~
